Issue 415 - FSD will soon learn your parking preferences
Charging
Free car vacuums start appearing at Superchargers
Free car vacuums are now being piloted at a busy Supercharger station in Germany, giving owners a way to use charging time to tidy up their vehicles. This addition joins a growing list of practical Supercharger amenities like lounges, solar canopies, and tire inflators, highlighting a push to make charging stops more useful and comfortable.
FSD
FSD Supervised now celebrates your milestones 📹
New milestone celebrations have been added to FSD Supervised, rewarding drivers for hitting specific Full Self-Driving usage goals. The update gamifies the FSD experience a bit, encouraging more engagement and regular use of the system.
Greater Grok FSD integration and ‘Banish’ teased for about 3 months from now
Elon Musk has confirmed that in about three months, owners will be able to guide their cars more directly using Grok, including issuing commands like asking for specific drop-offs and parking instructions. The long-awaited "Banish" or "Reverse Summon" feature, reportedly coming around the same time, will allow cars to self-park after dropping you off. This would address a common pain point by giving drivers more contextual control in busy or tricky city parking scenarios.
FSD will soon learn your parking preferences, Elon says
Elon Musk has announced that an upcoming Full Self-Driving update will allow vehicles to remember and prioritize preferred parking spots based on your history, rather than always choosing the first available spot. This improvement should reduce one of the most common reasons drivers intervene with FSD, especially for those who like to avoid high-traffic areas or park farther from entrances.
Cybercab
Cybercab launch looks imminent at Giga Texas
The imminent launch of the Cybercab is signaled by hundreds of vehicles now gathered at Giga Texas, many wearing new "Cybercab" decals. After receiving its EPA Certificate of Conformity and self-certifying as Level 4 autonomous, the two-seat, steering wheel-free Cybercab could join the Robotaxi ride-hailing fleet as soon as August. The main question left is whether service will start without any safety monitor, as Texas law now permits fully driverless vehicle operation.
Software Updates
Blind Spot Warning While Parked expands to more vehicles
The Blind Spot Warning While Parked feature is rolling out to more vehicles, including the refreshed Model Y "Juniper" and 2021 or newer Model S and X. This safety system uses cameras and sensors to help prevent door accidents by locking the front doors if a hazard is detected and alerting occupants with visual and audio warnings.
First look at new Charge Stats in the app 📷
A major update to the app’s Charge Stats is rolling out with a redesigned interface, interactive maps, expanded charging metrics, and a permanent home for collectible charging badges. The update makes it easier to track charging habits, compare fuel savings, and gamifies the experience with achievements for visiting iconic chargers. A global 2026 Free Supercharging Competition is also launching, with lifetime free charging for a handful of high-achieving road-trippers.
Camera previews can now stay visible while driving 📹
A quiet software tweak now lets drivers keep a live multi-camera feed up while driving, but only if it is activated before shifting out of Park. This expanded diagnostic tool lets you view all nine camera angles on the go, making it easier to spot blocked lenses or visibility issues without stopping.
Semi
Semi spotted again with ground truthing hardware 📷
Autonomous capabilities for the Semi are still in development, with test trucks equipped with roof-mounted ground truthing hardware likely gathering data to refine and validate Full Self-Driving for the Class 8 vehicle. Although Semis do not have FSD yet, this is a sign that work is underway.
Robotaxi
Approval granted to operate ride-hailing service at SFO
A limousine permit has been secured to run commercial ride-hailing service at San Francisco International Airport, marking a key move into the competitive airport transport market. Unlike the fully driverless Robotaxi services in Texas, this permit applies to the Bay Area ride-hailing fleet with human drivers. Securing SFO access is an important step, as airport trips are a reliable and lucrative segment for ride-hailing providers.
🤓 What the acronym
As a Tesla fan, I find myself sometimes having to remember what are all those acronyms, here is a list of the ones you can find in this issue.
