Issue 410 - FSD v14.3.3 tracks live no-intervention streaks
Software Updates
Update 2026.14: the undocumented changes
Spring Update 2026.14 introduced a long list of new features, and many undocumented tweaks have now come to light. Highlights include improved parental controls, with new restrictions for Performance models, better visualization for amber turn signals, optimized Grok voice assistant behavior, a Chromium browser update, and a revamped interface for managing trip meters, driver profiles, and app icons. Service Mode has also seen improvements to aid independent repairers.
Semi
Semi’s new dual-screen UI is built for truckers 📹
The updated Semi features a dual-screen cockpit, diverging from the single center display found in passenger cars. The left screen shows essential vehicle metrics and navigation for professional drivers, while the right handles climate, media, and settings, each flanked by vertical app docks for easier access to hardware controls like deck lights and mirror cameras.
California unveils $1 billion electric truck rebate for fleets
California has launched a new Clean Fuel Reward program offering rebates between $7,500 and $120,000 per electric commercial vehicle, such as semis, box trucks, and delivery vans. Funded by the state's Low Carbon Fuel Standard, the initiative is designed to accelerate fleet electrification and spur heavy-duty charging corridor growth, benefiting both commercial and, eventually, consumer EV drivers.
FSD
FSD v14.3.3 adds a live intervention-free streak counter and updates Summon 📹
The new FSD v14.3.3 update introduces a live counter showing how far the car has driven without human intervention, aiming to give drivers better real-time feedback. While this may appeal to those tracking FSD's progress, safety testers have raised concerns that it could encourage risky behavior just to keep a streak alive. The update also improves Actually Smart Summon, merging it with Robotaxi's backend and increasing its maximum speed, alongside a handful of neural network and driving behavior refinements.
New patent reveals the secret behind FSD V14’s natural driving, and its Lite version for older cars
The latest patent details how Full Self-Driving V14 overcomes previous robotic and hesitant driving by modeling human-like behavior, prioritizing comfort, intervention likelihood, and natural driving style. This is achieved using a hierarchical decision-making architecture that efficiently prunes less optimal maneuvers, drastically reducing computational demands and enabling advanced FSD features even on older Hardware 3 vehicles with the upcoming v14 Lite update.
Approved to begin FSD testing in Belgium
Belgium has approved supervised FSD testing on public roads, starting with at least one vehicle in Flanders once insurance and license plate details are finalized. The test will cover around 5,000 km to compare Belgian roads and traffic rules with the Netherlands, where provisional approval has already been received.
Cybercab
Dedicated Cybercab car wash facility is being built in Las Vegas
A 36,000-square-foot facility near Las Vegas is being converted into a high-tech car wash and maintenance center designed exclusively for the upcoming Cybercab robotaxi fleet. This hub will automate cleaning and minor servicing, which is critical for driverless vehicles, helping maintain fleet uptime with minimal human intervention.
Accessories & Patents
Remote Meter
Tesla Remote Meter allows you to safely charge your Tesla at the fastest rate possible with Wall Connector, with no electrical service upgrades required. The meter enables Dynamic Power Management in your Wall Connector, adjusting your charge rate in real time based on the available power in your electrical panel. Tesla Remote Meter is compatible with Wall Connector and Universal Wall Connector.
Patent aims to make a massive change to a common automotive part
The latest patent overhauls the humble trim clip, a simple fastener notorious for causing cabin rattles and mounting noise. Instead of the usual all-plastic, single-use design, the new clip combines a strong glass-fiber nylon core with a vibration-damping thermoplastic elastomer layer and precise force tuning, making it reusable without sacrificing a silent ride. This small but meaningful upgrade could reduce interior noise, cut down on rattles over time, and save on long-term maintenance.
🤓 What the acronym
As a Tesla fan, I find myself sometimes having to remember what are all those acronyms, here is a list of the ones you can find in this issue.
