Issue 404 - Inside the Cybercab frunk
FSD
FSD 14.3 arrives with fleet learning, 20% faster reactions, and more
FSD v14.3 marks a major milestone: with a full AI system rewrite, Teslas now react 20% faster to real-world driving situations and can better understand complex intersections and 3D objects like low-hanging branches or odd signs. The update brings fleet learning into the mix, meaning the car learns from the wildest situations encountered by Teslas around the world, making city and highway driving smarter than ever. Cybertruck finally gets FSD parity, and parking gets some love with smarter spotting and door safety, while pothole detection and improved driver monitoring are coming soon.
New UI features for FSD in Europe revealed 📷
FSD Supervised demo rides across Europe have shown off a mix of fresh UI tweaks tailored to European rules. There is now a clear question mark icon for uncertain speed limits, plus more explicit lane change visuals like highlighting the lead car in yellow and showing clear on-screen prompts. There is also a new dedicated button to jump right back to the FSD visualization, which would be super handy for those moments you get distracted by music or fiddling with controls.
Software Updates
App update 4.55.5 adds new Powerwall status and Earth Day passport 📷
The latest app update delivers some nifty features, including an AI-powered status for Powerwall owners so you can finally see what your system is doing and why, super handy for those random weather-related grid events. There is also an Earth Day charging passport coming up, where Tesla will likely let you track how your charging habits and the fleet as a whole help cut emissions. On the service side, the app’s UI has been refreshed with a more helpful layout and an AI assistant that can answer Tesla-related questions, which should come in handy if you have ever gotten lost in the old menus.
Charging
Tesla Charging reports 2,500 new Superchargers and 53 million sessions in Q1 2026
Tesla kicked off 2026 by adding 2,500 new Superchargers globally, up 19 percent from last year, and saw 53 million charging sessions, a 26 percent jump. Those numbers helped avoid 823 million liters of gasoline and an estimated 3.4 billion kilograms of CO2 worldwide, which honestly is pretty incredible. Bonus: the new West Hollywood Tesla Diner has become a fun stop, cranking out nearly 10,000 milkshakes alongside charging and drive-in movies.
Cybercab
Inside the Cybercab frunk: massive fluid tank and more 📹
A peek under the Cybercab’s hood reveals a huge fluid tank that feeds both the windshield and the seven camera washers, a necessary feature for a truly hands-off Robotaxi. Instead of a typical frunk, this space is used for HVAC and other hardware, boosting interior legroom while a large rear trunk handles riders’ storage needs. The layout also hints at front-wheel drive, which is a surprise given the aggressive staggered wheels in the back, but it is classic Tesla to challenge expectations as production ramps for April.
Robotaxi
Robotaxi app adds Apple Pay, infotainment reset, improved visuals, and more in 26.3.0 📷
The Robotaxi app just got a solid update. You can now use Apple Pay for rides, and the visuals look cleaner with animated buttons like the new Start Ride feature. Address handling for Home and Work has improved, editing your destination and leaving feedback is easier, and playful effects like digital snowfall during a trip have been added. If you are an Android user, good news: code hints that your version is getting close.
Robotaxi app gains digital wallet support for Apple Pay and Google Pay
The Robotaxi app is getting a serious upgrade with Apple Pay and Google Pay integration, making payments quicker and signaling that the long-awaited Android version is almost here. The update also features slicker visuals, improved map animations, and some handy new controls, like letting riders edit destinations from notifications and even command the car to pull over or reboot if needed. All these changes point to a much more user-friendly experience as Cybercabs hit the road, with safety and rider control clearly top priorities.
Model 3 & Y
Model 3 Performance buyers can now choose summer or all-season tires at purchase
Model 3 Performance buyers in the US can now choose between summer and all-season tires right when ordering, a welcome update for those who have dealt with getting summer rubber during chilly deliveries in the past. This small but practical tweak means you can prioritize either grip and fun with summer tires or convenience with all-seasons, saving a future trip to the tire shop, especially if you live somewhere with unpredictable weather. Choosing all-season tires gets you a bit more range too, though hardcore winter drivers will still need a separate set for snow and ice.
Model Y ownership review after six months: what I love and what I don’t
After six months with the Model Y Long Range, this owner is loving the blend of fun driving, practicality, and advanced tech, especially features like heated seats and over-the-air updates that keep improving the experience. He highlights the roomy interior, even fitting four women’s luggage for a Disney trip, and the joy of waking up to a full charge at home, though he admits winter range loss is real and the built-in navigation still leads him astray more often than it should. Overall, the Model Y has changed his view on driving and is easily the favorite car he has owned, despite small complaints like tight cupholders and slow winter charging.
Model S & X
Musk hints at official ceremony to close the Model S and Model X chapter
Production of the Model S and Model X is officially ending, with only a few inventory vehicles left before they disappear for good. Elon Musk shared a nostalgic throwback and revealed there will be a special ceremony to mark the end of these flagship models, a first for Tesla.
🤓 What the acronym
As a Tesla fan, I find myself sometimes having to remember what are all those acronyms, here is a list of the ones you can find in this issue.
