Issue 384 - The most impressive FSD v14 videos you need to see
FSD
FSD/Autopilot is finally getting some new visualizations in 2025.38 📷
Tesla is set to roll out refreshed FSD and Autopilot visualizations in software update 2025.38 and onward. New graphics will soon give drivers a clearer look at what FSD sees and how it interprets the road in real time.
Update 2025.38 brings 3D visualization to maps and more features 📷
The 2025.38 update is a nice one for owners, adding features like 3D building visualization to the navigation maps for those with Premium Connectivity. Other improvements include easier access to dashcam footage details, a helpful new onboarding guide for new owners, left scroll wheel shortcuts to quickly toggle fun and useful options, and updates to Apple Music.
First look at new 3D buildings and maps in update 2025.38 📹
Tesla’s 2025.38 update rolls out striking new 3D building maps for Model 3, Y, and Cybertruck owners with AMD Ryzen units, giving navigation a big visual boost. Now you can see detailed 3D renditions of buildings, making spotting intersections and landmarks much easier in day-to-day driving. The feature is only for cars with Premium Connectivity and can’t be combined with satellite view or used over WiFi, but it’s a nice step closer to blending real-time road visualizations with Tesla’s mapping system.
The most impressive FSD v14 videos you need to see 📹
Early testers have started sharing awesome clips of FSD V14.1, showing Tesla’s latest update handling everything from emergency vehicles and debris avoidance to navigating complex parking garages and even picking up fast food at a drive-thru. The system can now park itself in your home garage and requests increased attention when things get tricky, making the experience feel much safer and more natural. It’s wild to see how quickly FSD adapts and feels a bit more like magic with every release. Looks like V14 is living up to the hype!
Model Y
The Model Y Standard’s fabric roof makes no sense 📹
The new Model Y Standard comes with a full glass roof that is oddly covered by a fabric headliner, so you can’t actually see out of it. This move was made for cost, simplification of process, and supply chain reasons, but from the inside, it just feels a bit odd. I wonder how easy it is to remove to get back the glass roof.
Model Y+ filing appears in China, expected to deliver 800-km range 📷
Tesla is preparing to launch a new Model Y+ in China, offering a huge range boost expected to hit about 800 km on the local test cycle. Like the recently released Model 3 Long Range, this variant gets a single motor and LG batteries, and is likely to sit in price between the entry and long range AWD models.
Software Updates
Tron: Ares software update released, but not everyone is happy 📹
Tesla surprised owners by launching a new optional Tron: Ares dashboard theme, letting you turn your interface into a Tron-style lightcycle display. While some enjoy the playful crossover with Disney, others feel Tesla should have put energy into more useful updates, especially as there are long-standing requests like HW3 retrofits or Smart Summon improvements.
Cybertruck Sentry and dashcam now include B-pillar recordings
Cybertruck owners just got a stealthy upgrade: the truck now records from its B-pillar cameras in Sentry Mode and Dashcam, plugging a big surveillance blind spot. Tesla flipped the switch in the background, no software update needed, so drivers can now cycle between six camera views to better capture all the action around their truck. Given how much attention Cybertrucks draw.

Time’s best inventions hall of fame
TIME looks back at 25 transformative inventions from recent decades, highlighting how everyday life has been revolutionized by breakthroughs like the NuvaRing, Roomba, YouTube, Google Street View and, of course, the Tesla Model S. The article reminds us how the Model S truly jumpstarted electric cars into the mainstream, proving that EVs could be both practical and exciting, and even pushed legacy carmakers to finally get serious about their own electric efforts. It’s actually pretty cool to see Tesla alongside other culture-shifting inventions like the iPhone and mRNA vaccines.
