FSD
Tesla trials self-driving cars on Britain’s roads
Tesla has started testing its Full Self-Driving (FSD) software in the UK, showcasing the system navigating central London and Swindon’s complex Magic Roundabout without driver intervention. The move comes ahead of a potential UK launch later this year, pending regulatory approval, with ministers signaling that driverless taxi trials could begin in 2026.
Tesla records one crash per 6.69 million Autopilot miles in Q2 2025
Tesla's latest Vehicle Safety Report reveals that drivers using Autopilot in Q2 2025 experienced a crash just once every 6.69 million miles driven. To put it in perspective, the US national average is one crash for every 702,000 miles, which really highlights how much safer Autopilot appears compared to traditional driving.
Unsupervised testing vehicles spotted in Bay Area 📷
The sighting of two Model Ys with dealer plates and FSD testing rigs at a Walnut Creek Supercharger suggests Tesla may be gearing up to expand unsupervised Full Self-Driving testing around the Bay Area. It feels like we’re getting closer to finally seeing wider public access for hands-off FSD here. If you spot these cars in your area, let me know what they’re up to!
Roadster
Tesla VP Lars Moravy confirms “mind-blowing” Roadster demo coming soon
Tesla’s VP of Vehicle Engineering Lars Moravy says the new Roadster is still in development and teased an epic live demo is coming soon. Elon himself was wowed by recent internal tech demonstrations. The Roadster is expected to push the boundaries for electric supercars, possibly featuring rocket thrusters for sub-two-second 0–60 times, but we still don’t know exactly when production will start or how much it will cost. After years of delays, it seems we’ll (finally) get to see the Roadster prototype in action before the end of the year. Fingers crossed!
Tesla Diner
Tesla diner to implement congestion fees during peak usage
Tesla's Diner will introduce congestion fees only when all 80 charging stalls are nearly full and your vehicle is completely charged, with an extra 35-minute grace period before fees kick in. During off-peak hours, you can charge and relax as long as you want, but if there’s a line of vehicles, the system will encourage turnover so more drivers get a shot. I like that they're promising to listen to feedback and adjust based on how fast folks get their food and overall experience.
Tesla's little-known secret about its diner might be the best feature of all
Tesla's LA Supercharger Diner has a great twist: servers get their tips directly from Tesla, not guests, giving staff a guaranteed wage and removing any awkward tipping pressure.
Software Updates
Turn your Tesla into a rave cave with the new Light Sync feature 📹
Tesla's latest update, 2025.26+, introduces the Light Sync feature, letting your car's lights pulse in time with music for a full-on rave effect. Small but fun feature!
Model Y
Tesla Model Y gets elusive safety award from the IIHS
The 2025 Tesla Model Y just received the Top Safety Pick Plus award from the IIHS, making it one of only two midsize luxury SUVs to get this nod this year.
Tesla's affordable Model Y leaked: video and list of changes 📹
A new video out of China gives us our first look at Tesla’s stripped-down, cost-optimized Model Y, codenamed E41. They’ve dropped the glass roof, dialed back on interior features like rear screens and speakers, and generally streamlined both inside and out to get the price down. Rumors point to a $35,000 tag before any incentives. It’s a bummer to lose some classic Tesla features, but for folks waiting on a more budget-friendly entry into the Tesla lineup, this could be what they were looking for.
Model 3
Tesla launches carbon fiber dashboard upgrade for Model 3 📷
Tesla now offers a carbon fiber dashboard wing as an official accessory for the refreshed Model 3, available in North America, parts of Europe, and Australia for $300. This sleek trim replaces the standard textile dash, giving your interior a sportier feel with a durable, cross-woven design, and includes professional installation at a Tesla Service Center.
🤓 What the acronym
As a Tesla fan, I find myself sometimes having to remember what are all those acronyms, here is a list of the ones you can find in this issue.
FSD: Full Self-Driving
Tesla’s data on crashes per distance driven are very misleading. It does not factor in that Tesla drivers frequent have to disengage FSD and that FSD is used more on highways than in congested city driving. Independent data is more reliable and it shows that Tesla’s fatal crash rate is double the national average for all cars. Double.
Musk actively attempts to suppress data about Tesla crashes from the NHSA. If Teslas were as safe as his fake data suggests, he should be promoting the release of NHSA data.
While your coverage of Tesla is sometimes helpful, please stop promoting Musk’s distortions, empty promises, and failures.
