FSD
FSD v13.2.9 rolls out for HW4 as part of Tesla’s 2025.14.6 update
After a long 84-day wait, Tesla finally released FSD V13.2.9 for HW4 vehicles, including the Cybertruck. While this is just a minor version bump from V13.2.8 and still misses a changelog, it is bundled with update 2025.14.6, which notably fixes a bug that kept some cars from properly sleeping and draining extra battery. If you’re on HW4, don’t expect new features, but at least the annoying sleep bug should be gone!
Tesla updates lane departure avoidance, now likely using FSD stack 📹
Lane Departure Avoidance just got a major update as Tesla shifted it onto the FSD stack, with new on-screen visuals that highlight lane markings blue or red for emergency corrections. This marks a move away from the old Autopilot system, so now LDA supports both HW3 and HW4 vehicles with FSD, including the Cybertruck, and brings a more unified driving experience. It looks like Tesla's gradually blending its safety and autonomy features into a single stack, which should mean smarter responses and, hopefully, more improvements for older FSD owners too.
Robotaxi
Tesla's 'Project Alicorn' and what it means for the Robotaxi platform
Tesla's upcoming Robotaxi ride-hailing service is codenamed 'Project Alicorn' and will roll out first in Austin this June, starting with a limited fleet integrated directly into the existing Tesla app. The service is designed to let regular owners generate passive income with their cars, thanks to Full Self-Driving tech handling rides autonomously, and Tesla plans to expand globally, with Saudi Arabia as a confirmed future market. The Robotaxi won't be tied to a specific vehicle model (any Tesla with capable FSD can jump in) making for a big step toward the dream Elon Musk has teased since 2019 about your car working while you sleep (maybe).
Supercharging
Exclusive look inside the Tesla diner 📷
Photos of Tesla's nearly finished retro diner on Santa Monica Boulevard reveal a cool futuristic-meets-classic vibe, with circular seating, bold lighting, and an art-deco style logo. The diner will fit 200 people, stay open 24-7, and is set to offer indoor, rooftop and open-air seating where you can enjoy a meal while catching a film at the outdoor drive-in theater. Tesla is really going all out to make this a Hollywood must-see, and I hope the food is as good as the design!
Tesla Supercharger map update for May 2025
Tesla’s latest Supercharger map update adds 13 new "in development" sites across Canada, spreading fresh locations in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec. As always, these new sites aren't guaranteed until contracts are signed, and four planned sites were removed this round after plans changed. If you are in Delta, BC, check out the under-construction Supercharger on Hwy 99, Tesla fans nearby or planning road trips will love having more charging options soon.
Cybertruck
Tesla cancels Cybertruck range extender and notifies buyers of refunds
Tesla has decided to pull the plug on the highly anticipated Cybertruck Range Extender, informing reservation holders via email that their deposits will be fully refunded. This might be a disappointment for folks who were counting on those extra miles of range for road trips, especially considering how much interest there was around this option when the Cybertruck was launched.
New Models
Tesla launches new long range RWD Model Y in U.S.
Tesla just launched the Long Range RWD Model Y in the U.S., bringing more range at a lower price. It starts at $44,990 before incentives, giving you up to 326 miles of EPA range and the premium interior, but with rear-wheel drive and slightly slower acceleration compared to the AWD. Great to see more affordable options in the lineup while still keeping most of the perks of the refreshed Model Y!

Potential Tesla "affordable model" test car spotted at Giga Texas
A mystery test car was spotted at Giga Texas, fueling speculation that Tesla's upcoming affordable model is deep into prototyping. The covered vehicle, missing its roof and body panels, looks like a shrunken Model Y and was also seen recently at Fremont, suggesting Tesla's next-generation models will resemble current cars but with a lower price tag.
Optimus
Tesla shares new video of Optimus performing dance routine 📹
Tesla just dropped a video of Optimus showing off its best dance moves, giving us a glimpse at how much its humanoid robot has improved. The robot is now better at balancing and coordinating its motions, and these steps were entirely learned in simulation with reinforcement learning. It is wild to see how far Optimus has come in just over two years, and the pace of improvement is honestly impressive.
