Cybertruck
Tesla rolls out Steer-by-Wire improvements to Cybertruck
Tesla's latest update enhances the Cybertruck's Steer-by-Wire system, improving steering feedback to reflect road conditions. This upgrade, part of the 2025.8.4 software release, enhances the Cybertruck's drivability, especially in tight spaces. The Cybertruck now also supports adjustable air suspension via the Tesla App.
Charging & Energy
Tesla begins shipping China-made Megapacks to Australia 📷
Tesla has begun dispatching its first China-manufactured Megapacks to Australia, marking a significant move for its energy storage expansion. Produced at the newly operational Shanghai Megafactory, these utility-scale units are set to stabilize power grids and enhance renewable energy integration in Australia. With a potential annual output of 10,000 Megapacks, each capable of storing 3,900 kWh.
Tesla diner adds solar canopies near completion 📷
Tesla's unique LA diner project, featuring a drive-in theater and Supercharger station, is edging closer to completion with the addition of solar canopies. Three large canopies now provide shade over the Supercharging area, signaling the project's eco-friendly focus. An internal reference in Tesla's January software update hinted at possible menu integrations with vehicles at the diner.
Model Y
Tesla debuts super manifold V2 in the new Model Y 📷
Tesla reveals its upgraded Super Manifold V2 with the latest Model Y, further optimizing heat pump efficiency in EVs. This innovative component combines multiple refrigerant and coolant parts into one system, enhancing both heating and cooling capabilities—an essential feature for thermal management in Tesla vehicles. However, its availability is selective, with plans for broader distribution across the Model Y lineup and possibly the Model S and X in the future.
Software Updates
Tesla amplifies Sentry Mode with high-volume music response
Tesla is ramping up its Sentry Mode with a new feature on the Cybertruck that plays loud music through its Superhorn and external speakers when the system is triggered. This enhancement aims to deter potential vandals by making use of the powerful audio output that the vehicle can produce. While currently detailed for the Cybertruck, there's speculation that this high-volume deterrence will extend to other models equipped with the necessary external speaker system.
Tesla Model 3 performance enhances comfort with new FSD features
The new Tesla Model 3 Performance update improves Full Self-Driving (FSD) comfort by introducing an automatic suspension setting adjustment. With software update 2025.8, the vehicle shifts to Standard Ride & Handling when FSD is active for smoother driving. This dynamic adaptive suspension setup enhances ride quality, making the transition between Sport and Standard seamless, although users can opt to keep their preferred setting. Similar to Model S/X features, this adjustment prioritizes comfort during FSD and is expected to roll out on future Model Y Performance vehicles.
Cybercab
The future is autonomous and starts in Austin this June 📷
Tesla is set to launch a groundbreaking autonomous transport initiative in Austin this June, with support from the City of Austin and the Texas Department of Transportation. The project aims to begin operating the Cybercab in full autonomous mode.
Tesla explores casting limits with Cybercab production
Tesla plans to push the boundaries of casting technology with the upcoming Cybercab, aiming for an ambitious production target of 2 million units per year across multiple factories. Set for volume production in 2026, Tesla's revolutionary 'unboxed' process, likened to high-speed electronics lines, is designed for extreme efficiency – potentially producing a vehicle every five seconds.
